I'm super lucky this year to be able to have some "winter work" with a bunch of sweet babies on the calendar! Last week on the coldest day of the year so far I met these little bundles of blue eyes and smiles. It was a perfect session. The kids are delightful and I'm already looking forward to our next follow up session!

I mean, all of tht baby cuteness all precious and sleeping in a SANTA hat?!??! Oh it will melt many hearts when that Santa Baby arrives on a Christmas card!
This new family was DELIGHTFUL and full of PRETTY people. These handsome boys make me melt. Their intense eyes and thick handsome hair. This family is three times blessed with the joy of BOYS!

Ashley, thanks for giving me a chance and inviting me into your home. I can easily see why Julie and Angie consider you a FRIEND. I couldn't have asked for more PERFECT fall weather this November day in KC. It was a risk scheduling 4 back-to-back appointments on a random fall day crossing fingers and hoping for the best. Turns out, it paid off and was AMAZING. The light, the clients, the wardrobe choices, the smiles, the fun -- all of it was perfection!
Here is a glimpse of the 4 precious families I was lucky enough to have that. (if they look familiar, they are! They are loyal and fabulous clients!)

Sweet baby Gabby was 6 days old when I got to her house. Big brother was coming down with a little something and was still new in his BIG BROTHER role so pictures weren't at the top of his list! I'm sure he's still trying to figure things out about how he is still the BOSS in his home!
We did manage to capture some beautiful images though!

There are beatutiful woods across the street from our home that turn brilliant colors in the fall. Every year I'm super excited to drag some families back into the thick of it and play. This family was SUPER duper easy. (Is it OK to say that?) I think I'm so used to chasing children that a family with beautiful teenagers semed like a breeze! I could get used to that!
Above all, this family LOVES on another. Quite often I caught mom and dad sharing a hug, a squeeze and a kiss. I teased them that I'd be putting their images on the website as a tutorial for "how to love!" I often tell clients to LOVE one another, be tender, embrace, etc. These two really needed no prodding.
I love that. Reminds me of my own mom and dad and I think it's super sweet.

There isn't anything I love better than a referral, especially when that referral leads me to a sweet fun family! Capturing, err, I mean chasing these kids last week was fun! The weather was super ( a bit chilly hence some of the red noses in the pictures!) and the color in Minnesota is brilliant right now. It was a perfect day for pictures.

I didn't expect my sister to choose me to do her Senior pictures but I'm super happy she did. I know there are a LOT of other wonderful photographers in Kansas City but she swears she wanted me. We had so much for together roaming some of Tori's favorite places in Kansas City and changing clothes along the way.
I might be biased, but I pretty much think she is beautiful and rocked her Senior shoot with major style. Here are MY favorites.

...and the work and the crying and the diapers and the JOY!! This bundle of babies belong to my friend Julie's brother Craig and sister-in-law Carol. Carol carried these precious bundles to 35 weeks. Each was born weighing a good amount and thriving. They each had a small stay in the NICU, as expected with multiples and pre-term babies, then were blessed to come HOME.
And then I came to take their pictures. However, I didn't think I was at the right home! I peeked into the entry way and living room of what I thought was the right address and it was all so CLEAN...not a baby item in sight?!? What? With three little babes? As I double checked my address to make sure I was at the right location, this beautiful mama answers the door, freshly showered and glowing. It turns out that I was in fact in the right place and it just happens to be clean! Way to go Carol!!
And then the fun began.
Think its hard getting ONE baby to peacefully sleep for newborn pictures? Try THREE! It took every hand on deck to make this happen. There was soothing, rocking, shooshing, swaddling and all of the "S's" needed to make a baby snooze! And it was magic.

It just so happens and that Hunter and Calvin are friends. And so are their moms ... and we all know its the MOMS who make these kinds of decisions! Thanks MOMS for choosing to work with me and sharing your guys for the night!
Hunter has this FANTASTIC rustic barn in his yard!!?!?!? SCORE! I could have shot the entire session right there! I even mentioned to his mom that I might be calling her to use it for future sessions (with proper payment of course!). After the barn we headed to one of my very favorite places in the Cities, the Mill City Museum. And...
...it was closed. Oops. No worries! We found MANY an awesome shot AND Hunter even saw a classmate from school having her own pictures in the area too! Great minds think alike!
